A step-up / step-down DC-DC converter using a flying capacitor and a control method thereof are disclosed. In the present invention, there is only one switch in the current transfer path through which the main current flows through the inductor in the step-up / step-down operation. According to the present invention, higher power efficiency can be obtained as compared to conventional converters, thereby increasing the battery usage time and having a smaller die area.
