Disclosed are a system for monitoring the temperature of a power line connection point of an underground power outlet and a method thereof. The system for monitoring the temperature of a power line connection point of an underground power outlet comprises: a plurality of temperature sensor modules measuring the temperature of a power line connection point of an underground power outlet and transmitting temperature data in accordance with the measurement; a plurality of temperature data collection modules receiving and collecting temperature data of the power line connection point measured by the plurality of temperature sensor modules and transmitting the collected temperature data of the power line connection point in an RS485 communication mode; and a power unit remote terminal unit (RTU) receiving and monitoring temperature data of the power line connection point collected by the plurality of temperature data collection modules through the RS485 communication mode.
