The present invention relates to a molecular sieve, an improved synthesis method thereof, and a system and method for using the molecular sieve as a catalyst in a variety of processes, such as a process of attenuating contaminants in exhaust gases and a conversion process. The molecular sieves of the present invention are prepared using modified colloids comprising an alumina source, a silica source and a structure directing agent.
