PRESSURE MODULATED CRYOABLATION SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS

The near-critical fluid-based cryosurgery system includes a cryosurgical catheter to create lesions in tissue. The cryogenic fluid is delivered under pressure through the catheter. The controller adjusts the pressure from a relatively high (e.g., near critical) pressure to a significantly lower pressure based on the conditions during catheter activation. In one configuration, the pressure is adjusted based on the temperature of the catheter. When the temperature of the catheter reaches the target temperature, the pressure is reduced.
