The present invention relates to a Chryseobacterium sp. NBC122 strain and a composition for promoting plant growth containing the strain or the culture medium thereof as an active ingredient. More particularly, the present invention relates to a Chryseobacterium sp. NBC122 strain promoting plant growth, a composition for promoting plant growth containing the strain or the culture medium thereof as an active ingredient, and a method for promoting plant growth using the composition. More specifically, the Chryseobacterium sp. NBC122 strain according to the present invention is excellent in the effect of increasing the germination rate, root length, plant length, fresh-weight and growth index of plant under common growth conditions and salt stress-induced growth conditions.
