The present invention relates to a device for preventing drunk driving, installed in a vehicle. According to the present invention, the device for preventing drunk driving includes: a carbon dioxide sensor including a specimen gas inflow pipe drawing specimen gas inside and a specimen gas outflow pipe discharging the specimen gas flowing inside, wherein the carbon dioxide sensor generates an electric signal in accordance with the concentration of carbon dioxide included in the specimen gas flowing inside through the specimen gas inflow pipe; a suction pump connected to the specimen gas outflow pipe of the carbon dioxide sensor and drawing the specimen gas into the carbon dioxide sensor when the suction pump is operated; an exhaust pipe connected to an outlet of the suction pump; an alcohol sensor generating an electric signal in accordance with the concentration of alcohol in the specimen gas flowing in the exhaust pipe; and a controller formed to control a starting device of the vehicle by determining whether the driver is drunk or not depending on the electric signal of the alcohol sensor when the concentration of the carbon dioxide in accordance with the electric signal of the carbon dioxide sensor is equal to or greater than a predetermined value. According to the present invention, the alcohol sensor of the device for preventing drunk driving automatically operates when the concentration of carbon dioxide in the vehicle is equal to or greater than a predetermined concentration when the driver gets in the vehicle. Therefore, the device for preventing drunk driving can automatically check whether the driver is drunk without an inconvenient process of turning on a breathalyzer and personally insufflating expired gas to the breathalyzer using a blow pipe.
