LI-S ACTIVE ELECTRODE MATERIAL FOR A LI-S BATTERY

The present invention relates to an active material suitable for the production of electrodes, particularly electrodes for Li-S batteries. The active material according to the present invention comprises a carbon nanofilter homogeneously dispersed in a substrate of sulfur, and the active material is obtainable by a method involving melting in the presence of intense kinetic energy. The quality of the carbon nanofilter in the active material is 1 to 25% by weight based on the total weight of the active material. The active material according to the present invention makes it possible to improve the electronic conductivity of the electrode formulation. Another aspect of the present invention is the use of an active material in an electrode, particularly a Li-S battery.
