The purpose of the present invention is to solve a problem of water leakage and wind noise generated when constructing a site by manufacturing and installing an elevator pit installed at the lowermost part of an elevator shaft in advance. To this end, the present invention relates to a steel elevator pit comprising a base frame and an upper frame which are steel, and a side frame positioned therebetween, a lower structure of a hoistway with the steel elevator pit, and a construction method thereof. The steel elevator pit comprises: a base frame having a rectangular shape; a side frame formed on an upper part of the base frame and including an auxiliary plate provided on the inside of a plurality of side wall members to couple the side wall members and a plurality of facility members; an upper frame coupled to an upper end of the side wall members of the side frame to support a lower end of a mold for placing a hoistway wall by fixing the same; a front end water barrier key consisting of a water barrier wall coupled to the outside of an upper end of the side frame and protruding from an upper part of the side frame and a front end key bent outward from a lower end of the water barrier wall in a horizontal direction, and positioned at the height between the side frame and the upper frame; and a collecting wall provided on the base frame, having side walls installed to be higher than an upper surface of concrete filled in the base frame, having a plurality of drainage holes formed on a part protruding from an upper part of the upper surface of the concrete of the side walls, and having an opened upper part on which a grating cover is held.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
