Disclosed is a method for identifying and visualizing a thrombus region based on a medical image. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for identifying and visualizing a thrombus region may include: matching an acquired computerized tomography image and angiographic tomography-based average standard model; Identifying a candidate blood vessel region based on a result of registration with the mean standard model in the computed tomography image of the subject; Deriving the selected volume as a first thrombus candidate region by applying a threshold value for brightness of the computed tomography image to the candidate blood vessel region; Deriving at least a portion of the first thrombus candidate region as a second thrombus candidate region based on the size information of the first thrombus candidate region; And visualizing the second thrombus candidate region by providing a visual element that is distinguished from the rest of the computed tomography image of the subject.
