One or more polyesters comprising terephthalic or isophthalic acid, ethylene glycol and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues, and terephthalic or isophthalic acid, 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol And one or more polyesters comprising 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues. Ternary polyester blends have improved transparency, toughness and manufacturing properties and are useful for the manufacture of flat or molded articles. Of particular interest are ternary blends in which one of the three components compatibilizes the blend of two other non-miscible polyesters.
