Disclosed in the present invention are a method and system for optimizing the performance of a wireless mesh network. According to the present invention, the method for optimizing the performance may comprise: a step of connecting a plurality of nesh points with one or more hops to form a wireless mesh network; a performance testing step of performing a ping test repeatedly while changing a received signal strength indication (RSSI) threshold set; and an optimal condition determination step of determining optimal RSSI threshold set using a ping test result. According to the present invention, since the performance optimization can be performed automatically when constructing a wireless mesh network, installation is much easier. In addition, it is possible to more conveniently check and manage a status of each wireless device.
