The present invention relates to a method for regulating aquaporin expression of plants and an expression system using an aquaporin promoter. According to the present invention, the expression of aquaporin can be easily controlled by modifying the CE1 element (CACCG) or ACGT core, which is the binding site of abscisic acid insensitive 4 (ABI4) in the OsTIP3;1 promoter. In addition, by providing a protein expression system using the OsTIP3; 1 promoter with the modified binding site of ABI4, the present invention can be usefully used for the expression and production of aquaporin in plants.
