The present invention provides a method for detecting a landmine based on ultra-wideband ground penetrating radar, which comprises: a training process for generating a background signal model by collecting data in an area where landmines are not buried and in an area where landmines are buried while recognizing the landmines; and a detecting process that detects the landmines by using the background signal model acquired through the training process without recognizing the landmines.
