The invention relates to a catalyst for the synthesis of C5 and higher hydrocarbons from CO and H2 by a Fischer-Tropsch reaction and a method for producing this catalyst. The catalyst comprises cobalt and a granulated porous support comprising an oxide-containing component and a heat-transfer material in the form of a cellular graphite consisting of individual fragments with the following dimensions: width 100-200 µm, length 250-450 µm and thickness 100-230 µm, wherein the components are present in the following mass quantities (% of the total mass of the catalyst): cobalt – 10-40%, oxide-containing component – 16-82%, cellular graphite – 8-64%. Slit-shaped pores make up at least 80% of the total number of pores present in the catalyst. A method for producing the catalyst comprises mixing the cellular graphite with the oxide-containing component in the presence of a liquid phase. This provides for intensified heat and mass transfer in the catalyst granules, making it possible to form C5 and higher hydrocarbons with a high output and selectivity.
