The group of inventions relates to the preparation for long-term storage or burial of dust and solid waste from the production of radioactive materials. A method of preparing radioactive dust for long-term storage or burial involves loading dust captured by a gas treatment system into a container and filling said container with a liquid slag. Radioactive dust is periodically loaded into a hermetically sealing metal storage tank. The storage tank is placed into a protective technical container for storage between procedures. For long-term storage or burial, the aforementioned tank is placed in a shielding container with an internal lining. The container is filled with molten liquid acidic slag having a temperature of 1450-1600°С in an amount equivalent to 90-95% of the volume of the lined part of the container, wherein the acidic slag contains (in wt%): 50-55 SiO2; 6-8 Al2O3; 6-7 ∑FeO; 1-5 MnO; 1-10 Cr2O3; 9-10 CaO; 8-9 MgO; others (the balance). After the slag has solidified and the surface thereof has cooled to 50°С, the container is hermetically sealed, closed with a lid and transported to a long-term storage or burial site. Also claimed is a device for preparing radioactive dust for long-term storage or burial. The group of inventions makes it possible to increase safety levels in the long-term storage or burial of radioactive dust.
