FIELD: veterinary medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science and represents a method for treating chronic mastitis in cows with the help of hirudotherapy, consisting in the fact that previously affected portion of udder is washed with warm water with laundry soap, treated with 70 % solution of ethyl alcohol, and then with 40 % glucose solution, then on each sick portion of udder in area around nipple and four times every 72 hours, two leeches are prescribed, releasing at sting of 0.04 ml of leech secret, after leech fallout in 25–30 minutes, the bite site is disinfected.;EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness in mastitis.;1 cl, 4 tbl
