FIELD: test.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of testing material subjected to heat treatment, affecting mechanical properties, pipes made of steel for transportation of liquid and gaseous media. From the welded or seamless pipe, a sample is taken in the form of a circular section, subjected to thermal treatment corresponding to thermal treatment of the pipe and mechanical properties are determined and compared with the required properties. Thereafter, pipe, from which sample was taken, is allowed or blocked for machining of pipe ends and subsequent stage of heat treatment. Said sample in form of annular section is subjected to heat treatment together with pipe already tolerated for thermal treatment.;EFFECT: possibility of determining mechanical characteristics without destroying finished pipe.;7 cl
