FIELD: technological processes.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrolytic method of producing ultrafine powders of cerium and cobalt boride, involving synthesis of cerium and cobalt boride from molten media. Method is characterized by that synthesis is carried out from halide melt on molybdenum cathode in atmosphere of purified and dried argon at temperature of 700 °C and electrolysis potentials relative to the glass-carbon comparison electrode from -2.2 to -2.4 V, where the cerium source used is anhydrous cerium chloride, the cobalt source is anhydrous cobalt dichloride, the boron source is potassium fluoroborate, the solvent is an equimolar mixture of potassium and sodium chlorides, with the following ratio of components, mol/cm3, ×10-4: cerium chloride 1.7÷3.0; cobalt chloride 0.8÷7.0; potassium fluoroborate 1.5÷3.5.;EFFECT: obtaining superdispersed powder of double boride of cerium and coba obtaining the end product in pure form and with high output.;1 cl, 3 ex, 6 dwg
