The moon phase display mechanism (1) according to the invention comprises a drive wheel driven by a movement, which drives a moon phase disc (20) behind the window (11) of a dial (10) . This mechanism (1) comprises, coaxial, superimposed and driven continuously in the opposite direction, a first phase indicating wheel (110) carrying a first cam-heart (80), and a second indicating wheel phase (100) carrying a second heart cam (90) and said drive wheel comprises guide means (31) of a double lever (40) having two arms (43; 53), one at a time is arranged to cooperate in contact with one of said second (90) and first cam-heart (80), each for displaying the visible moon phase in a northern or southern hemispheres, and to allow pivoting of said phase disc moon (20) in the correct direction for that hemisphere.
