A device (300) for detecting a three-dimensional object based on the light-section method comprising; a beam source (350) for generating a light beam (351), a sensor unit (301) for detecting at least a part of the light beam reflected back from the object (336) from at least two different viewing angles (β1, β2), wherein the field of view (313) of the sensor unit (301) is reducible to at least two separate detection areas (310, 320); wherein in each detection area (310, 320) at least one deflection arrangement (340) is positionable about the first detection area (310) and the second detection area (320) in the direction of the optical axis (305) of the sensor unit (301) to that of the light beam (351) deflectable measuring range (355), characterized in that the deflection arrangement (340) is designed such that the optical axis (305) directed detection areas (312, 322) each incline such that a focal plane (325) of the first and a sharpness plane (325) of the second detection area is respectively rotated in the object plane illuminable by the light beam (351).
