Shear and single screw plasticizing unit

Disclosed is a shearing member for a plasticizing screw, with at least one inlet channel (2, 2a, 2b) and at least one outlet channel (3, 3a, 3b), which run helically around or parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the shearing part (1). The inlet channel (2, 2a, 2b) is open on the conveyor side and closed on the delivery side. The outlet channel (3a, 3b, 3) is open on the downstream side and closed on the conveyor side. Inlet channel and outlet channel are immediately adjacent to each other and arranged adjacent to each other, and thereby fluidly connected directly, such that inflowing melt directly from the inlet channel (2, 2a, 2b) in the outlet channel (3, 3a, 3b) can flow over a flow direction transverse to the longitudinal axis (X) of the shaving part (1) results. The inlet channel (2, 2a, 2b) has a depth (T) at which a shearing action on the melt is substantially avoided. The outlet channel (3, 3a, 3b) is designed as a shear surface (9), such that there is a shearing action on the melt flowing through the outlet channel (3, 3a, 3b).
