The technology disclosed herein relates to a method for relieving pressure from at least one pressure vessel 100 and a pressure vessel system. The method comprises the steps of: i) detecting a pre-crash situation; and ii) taking a protective measure for the pressure vessel 100 if a pre-crash situation has been detected.
