A highly sensitive detector for detecting gravitational waves is presented. According to field quantum theoretical considerations, gravitational waves have field quanta (gravitons) with very, very low quantum energy and thus a very, very large wavelength of several thousands of light years, so that at distances of earthly or near-Earth cosmic dimensions the field amplitude of the gravitational wave hardly changes. Therefore gravitational wave detectors must be extremely be sensitive to measure gravitational waves. To increase the sensitivity, the electrical measurement signal generated by the detector is superimposed by a periodic voltage. The optical analogue in super-resolution microscopy is the SIM (Structured Illumination Microscopy).
