The invention relates to a fire circuit breaker for a mains frequency low voltage circuit for the detection of serial fault arcs, comprising: a first sensor for determining the magnitude of the current of the low-voltage circuit, a control unit connected to the first sensor and configured to detect serial fault arcs in the low voltage electrical circuit and to provide an error arc detection signal upon detection of an arc fault. When a first threshold value of the magnitude of the current is exceeded, a determination is made with respect to serial fault arcs, an interruption lock is activated when an arc fault is detected, and then no arc fault detection signal is emitted if the first threshold value of the magnitude of the current is exceeded and the interruption inhibit is activated.
