The invention relates to a method for the interaction of a pointing device with a target point arranged on a projection surface of a virtual desktop and to a pointing device equipped therefor. Previous pointing devices sometimes require very strong physical movements to cause the pointing device to point to a desired target point. This is on the one hand uncomfortable for the user and meets social acceptance problems in the public. In addition, the operation of a confirmation button or a confirmation button on a data glasses is cumbersome It is therefore intended to create an opportunity for interaction that can be implemented in a less conspicuous manner and with simple body movements. In accordance with the invention, this is achieved in a process-oriented manner in that the spatial coordinate of the target point is determined by means of an image processing system from a two-dimensional optical code applied to one of the pointing devices and transmitted as a control variable to a control unit of the projection surface, wherein in a first method step by means of the image processing system the spatial position of a perpendicular to the centroid of the code normal vector (N +) is determined, the normal vector (N +) is aligned in a second method step by moving and tilting the carrier plane (HE) to the target point, and in a third method step by means of the image processing system a rotational movement (R) of the carrier plane (HE) is detected about an axis of rotation perpendicular to the carrier plane (HE), and an activation signal of the pointing device is detected as a function of a detected rotational movement (R) is produced.
