A threaded shaft measuring apparatus includes a table supporting a threaded shaft to be measured and capable of adjusting a rotational position about a vertical Z-axis, setting a rotational position about an X-axis which is horizontal and the Z-axis and to set a position in a Y-axis direction that is horizontal and intersects with the X-axis; and a stylus that performs a scanning measurement of a surface of the threaded shaft. On the table are installed a setting gauge that can contact the threaded shaft and an elevator that brings the setting gauge into contact with the threaded shaft. The gauge includes a lower abutment surface, a lateral abutment surface, a measurement surface, and an axis line marker that allows one to detect an inclination relative to the X axis.
