This method involves the passive monitoring of an external environment for audible sounds via ultrasonic sensors. An audible sound can be detected and used to produce a sound signal. The audio signal may be filtered to determine one or more features that correspond to it, including a class, a position, and a tempo. The audio signal may be assigned a priority based on the audio signal to determine an appropriate response. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed and claimed herein.
