Compositions for the active monitoring of prostate cancer

A system for evaluating a subject previously diagnosed with a non-aggressive prostate cancer, comprising: i) means for performing a blood sample immunoassay measuring free prostate specific antigen (fPSA), total prostate specific antigen (tPSA) and human kallikrein 2 (hK2) content; and ii) means for determining the likelihood that a prostate tissue biopsy obtained from the subject would contain detectable aggressive prostate cancer by weighting the measured kallikrein marker value and at least one clinical factor.
