MODIFIED CERAMIC FORMER FOR MANUFACTURING A NITRILE BUTADIENE RUBBER (NBR) ARTICLE HAVING IMPROVED GRIP PROPERTIES

A modified former for manufacturing a nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) article having improved grip properties includes a textured surface at finger or palm section of the modified former and a shining surface at the finger or palm section or both the finger and palm sections of the modified former. Sandblasting or spray on method produces the textured surface at the finger or palm section. Applying a thin layer of glossy glaze material with different densities over the unglazed textured surface followed by firing in kiln at suitable temperatures forms the modified ceramic former with the shining surface. The surface of the modified former made from ceramic materials is altered to form the shining surface at the finger or palm section or both the finger and palm sections to provide improved grip under dry, wet and oily conditions.
