A method of controlling an inverter of sources of electrical energy comprising: - a step of identifying (100) all the combinations of operating modes and states of availability of the energy sources, - a step of association (101) a switch state configuration at each combination, - a step of monitoring (103) a configuration change. During a configuration change, a switch control step (104) is executed to place the switches in a state in accordance with the configuration. In the absence of a configuration change, a step (105) checks compliance between the configuration and the actual state of the switches. The invention also relates to said method of controlling a source inverter implemented in a test device and a source inverter implementing such a method.
