The device 100 comprises a housing 102 wearable around a user’s neck. The wearable housing 102 includes at least one loudspeaker 112, 114 configured to produce tinnitus-masking sound, and control circuitry (figs 3 & 4) to control the operation of the at least one loudspeaker 112, 114. The control circuitry is configured to produce control signals that cause the at least one loudspeaker 112, 114 to generate sound for masking tinnitus noises perceived by the user. The control signals are based on sound data generated or stored locally within the wearable housing.
