Coins in a variety of shapes and weights are created from gold, silver, platinum and palladium, in various weights and levels of purity. Markings which show the weight 1, metal, purity 8 and origin are included on the coins. Security features which may be printed or etched onto the surface, such as latent images 5 and holograms 6. The coins are laminated with plastic to protect the surfaces against damage. The coins may be used as currency.
