An apparatus and method 100 for determining operating factors of a second vehicle in dependence on sensor data received relating to journeys taken in a first vehicle, comprising: receiving sensor data 102; determining a predicted energy consumption of the second vehicle for each journey undertaken by the first vehicle 106; determining a predicted routine energy consumption profile of the second vehicle; and informing a user of the operating factors indicative of a charging requirement for the second vehicle 108. The second vehicle may be an electric vehicle (EV). The charging requirement may include: how often the second vehicle would need to be charged; how long a charge event would be required; or the position of charging stations, which may be within a relevant driving profile area. The sensor data may include: the location of the first vehicle; or temperature data. The apparatus may process energy storage means temperature performance data. The apparatus may be a user device on board the first vehicle, which may be a smartphone, smart watch or tablet.
