A gas turbine engine (100) includes a primary flowpath fluidly connecting a compressor section (110), a combustor section (120), and a turbine section (130). A heat exchanger (150) includes an first inlet connected to a high pressure compressor bleed (112), a first outlet connected to a high pressure turbine inlet (132). The heat exchanger (150) further includes a second inlet fluidly connected to a supercharged CO2 (sCO2) coolant circuit (160) and a second outlet connected to the sCO2 work recovery cycle (160). The sCO2 work recovery cycle (160) is a recuperated Brayton cycle (160).
