To provide a light projecting device, a light projecting/receiving device, and a distance measuring device with which it is possible to safely project a laser beam to a long distance or over a wide range.SOLUTION: Scanning lights L31 and L32 projected from a deflection element and spaced apart from each other proceed inside a scanning region while analogously expanding the beam shapes at a prescribed ratio, and overlap each other when an object that is away by a prescribed distance or more (e.g., a distant object) is irradiated with the lights so that it can be assumed that substantially the same region is irradiated. That is to say, the scanning lights L31 and L32 are projected in such a manner as to be two beams of light spaced apart from each other immediately after being projected, and to become one beam of light inside of the scanning region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
