PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement efficiency of the heat generation distribution of a honeycomb structure and enable stable and accurate evaluation of the heat generation distribution measurement method of the honeycomb structure, the heat generation distribution measurement system of the honeycomb structure, the manufacturing method of the honeycomb structure and electricity. A method for producing a heating type carrier is provided. A columnar wall having an outer peripheral wall 12 and a porous partition wall arranged inside the outer peripheral wall and partitioning a plurality of cells forming a flow path from one end face to the other end face. This is a method for measuring the heat generation distribution of a honeycomb structure 10 provided with a pair of electrode layers 14a and 14b arranged so as to face each other with the central axis of the columnar honeycomb structure 11 interposed therebetween on the surface of the outer peripheral wall of the honeycomb structure. By applying a voltage to the pair of electrode layers, the calorific value calculated from the two-point current value estimated using Kirchhoff's law based on each resistance value between two different points measured at multiple points. Based on the above, the heat generation distribution in the honeycomb structure is estimated. [Selection diagram] Fig. 3
