PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for 1,3-butadiene synthesis capable of synthesizing 1,3-butadiene from ethanol while sufficiently suppressing by-production of 1-butene, and an apparatus and a method for manufacturing 1,3-butadiene using the catalyst for 1,3-butadiene synthesis.SOLUTION: A catalyst for 1,3-butadiene synthesis comprises a component (A):Cu, a component (B):Zn, and a component (C):one or more selected from the group consisting of B, Ba, Ca, Ge, K, Li, Mg, Na, Ta and W. An apparatus 10 for manufacturing 1,3-butadiene comprises a reaction tube 1 filled with the catalyst for 1,3-butadiene synthesis, a supply pipe 3 for supplying ethanol within the reaction tube 1, and a discharge pipe 4 for discharging a product from the reaction tube 1. A method for manufacturing 1,3-butadiene comprises contacting ethanol with the catalyst for 1,3-butadiene synthesis to obtain 1,3-butadiene.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
