PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a fatty acid preparation for parenteral nutrition and for imaging living animal organs. A method for screening a compound for determining transport via the Mfsd2a protein, which is (a) genetically engineered mice (KO mice) and wild-type mice that include disruption of homozygousness of the Mfsd2a gene in their genome. Contacting mice with a biological mixture containing the compound, (b) measuring the amount of the compound in the tissues or body fluids of KO and wild-type mice, and (c) of KO and wild-type mice. Including the comparison of the amount of the compound in tissue or body fluid, the higher amount of the compound of 1 or more in the wild-type mouse as compared with the KO mouse is an index of the transport of the compound via the Mfsd2a protein.
