To provide a technique capable of setting a route through a via-point in consideration of economic efficiency.SOLUTION: A travel route setting system comprises: a route acquiring unit which acquires a basic route on which a vehicle is scheduled to travel and an expanded route, which is a route on which a via-point is added to the basic route; a loss acquiring unit which acquires a loss, which is a value obtained by subtracting the cost required to pass the basic route from the cost required to pass the expanded route; a profit acquiring unit which acquires a profit obtained by going through the via-point; and a route setting unit which determines whether to adopt the expanded route instead of the basic route on the basis of comparison results between the profit and the loss.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
