PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic solution for a potassium ion battery capable of improving coulombic efficiency and rate characteristics, and a potassium ion battery including the electrolytic solution for a potassium ion battery. SOLUTION: The potassium salt compound contains a solvent and a potassium salt compound, and the potassium salt compound is selected from the group consisting of potassium hexafluorophosphate, potassium bis (fluorosulfonyl) amide and potassium bis (trifluoromethanesulfonyl) amide. An electrolytic solution for a potassium ion battery, which comprises seeds and in which the ratio of the potassium hexafluorophosphate to the total potassium salt compound is 70 mol% to 95 mol%.
