PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device and a measuring method with which oxidation ability of particulate matters can be rapidly estimated.;SOLUTION: Provided is a device 10 for measuring oxidation ability of particulate matters existing in the atmosphere, that includes: collecting means 11 for collecting a particulate matter; a reaction chamber 13 for retaining extraction liquid obtained by extracting the collected particulate matter; absorbance measuring means 15 for measuring absorbance of the extraction liquid obtained by extracting the particulate matter inside the reaction chamber; determining means 18 for measuring at each prescribed time, the absorbance of a specific wavelength corresponding to a concentration of an oxidized substance or a concentration of a substance produced by an oxidation reaction, by using the absorbance measuring means, after a prescribed molar quantity of the oxidized substance added to the extraction liquid inside the reaction chamber generates the oxidation reaction with the particulate matter, and for determining an end point of the oxidation reaction in accordance with its change amount; and estimating means 19 for estimating the oxidation ability of the particulate matter on the basis of the absorbance at the end point.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2020,JPO&INPIT
