PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a peptide which inhibits the activity of a toxic protein and a method for producing a toxic protein. SOLUTION: A step of transforming a host cell with a vector library containing a gene encoding a toxic protein and an arbitrary peptide, or a vector containing a toxic protein, a protease recognition sequence, and a gene encoding an arbitrary peptide. A method for screening a peptide that inhibits the activity of a toxic protein, which comprises a step of culturing the transformed host cell to obtain a colony. A step of transforming a host cell with a vector library containing a gene encoding a toxic protein and any peptide, or a vector containing a toxic protein, a protease recognition sequence, and a gene encoding any peptide, and transformed.
