Peripherally localized dual-acting kappa and delta opioid agonists for analgesia in painful conditions with inflammatory response

The present disclosure teaches the use of dual-acting opioid agonists for the treatment of pain (eg, inflammatory pain). Opioid agonists activate both kappa opioid and δ opioid receptors, resulting in a synergistic reduction in pain. Opioid agonists are peripherally localized and do not cross the blood-brain barrier.
