Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for updating high resolution maps. The system may include a communication interface configured to receive multiple image frames captured by a binocular camera mounted on the vehicle while the vehicle travels along the track. The system may further include storage configured to store high resolution maps and multiple image frames. The system may also include at least one processor. At least one processor may be configured to generate point cloud frames based on individual image frames. At least one processor may also be configured to locate the vehicle using a point cloud frame. At least one processor may also be configured to merge point cloud frames based on individual vehicle positions. At least one processor may also be configured to update a portion of the high resolution map based on the merged point cloud. [Selection diagram] Fig. 3
