To provide a liquid crystal display device and the like capable of self-identifying the type of a liquid crystal panel.SOLUTION: A first liquid crystal display device 10A includes: a liquid crystal panel 10; flexible wiring boards 21, 22 that are connected to connection terminal parts 100, 200 of the liquid crystal panel 10; a circuit board 40 connected to the flexible wiring board 21; drivers (source driver 31, gate driver 32) mounted on the flexible wiring boards 21, 22 for driving the liquid crystal panel 10; and a timing controller 50 that outputs a control signal to the driver. The timing controller 50 has an input terminal 50a to which a predetermined signal which is output from the circuit board 40 and returns to the circuit board 40 via the flexible wiring board 21 and the connection terminal part 100 is input.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
