To provide: a back-scattered light amplification device for amplifying, with a desired gain, a desired propagation mode of a rear Rayleigh scattered light with induced Brillouin scattering, in an optical fiber to be measured where a plurality of propagation modes exist; an optical pulse test apparatus; a back-scattered light amplification method; and an optical pulse test method.SOLUTION: A back-scattered light amplification device individually controls power, incident timing, and a pulse width of a pump pulse for each propagation mode, when the pump pulse is incident in a plurality of propagation modes, after a probe pulse is input in a desired propagation mode to an optical fiber to be measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
