PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup pin arrangement support device and a backup pin arrangement support method capable of supporting arrangement of backup pins by an operator without requiring any large-scale device configuration.SOLUTION: A backup pin arrangement support device (portable terminal T) that supports arrangement of backup pins for backing up the back surface of a mounting surface of a substrate in a backup pin arrangement portion includes an imaging unit (camera 12), a display unit 11a for displaying an image of the backup pin arrangement portion based on information imaged by the imaging unit, a support information display processing unit (support display processing unit 15c) for displaying an image while arrangement support information for supporting the arrangement of plural backup pins on the backup pin arrangement portion is superimposed on the image, and a capture frame display processing unit 15b for displaying, on the display unit 11a, a plurality of capture frames for capturing a plurality of recognition marks formed in the backup pin arrangement portion. The support information display processing unit displays the arrangement support information while the arrangement support information is superimposed on an image, based on recognition results of the plurality of recognition marks captured within the plurality of capture frames.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
