A device that measures physiological parameters using a wearable sensor

The wearable physiological sensor has a housing and a gas permeable support structure supported by the housing, which contacts the subject's skin. A gap is provided between the support structure and the housing. The movement of the support structure with respect to the housing is detected. This provides the subject with a comfortable sensor, and provides good sensitivity in that the detected movements (eg, arterial pulsations) simply need to impart kinetic energy to the support structure with fairly low inertia.
