To provide an auxiliary artificial heart having a size and weight capable of being reduced.SOLUTION: An auxiliary artificial heart 1(11) comprises an impeller 2, a motor 3 for rotating the impeller 2, and a casing 7 to which the motor 3 is fixed. The impeller 2 includes a shaft 4 coupled to an impeller blade 21. The motor 3 includes a rotor 5 and a stator 6 that rotate the impeller 2. The casing 7, to which the stator 6 of the motor 3 is fixed, has an internal space surrounding the impeller blade 21 in which an artificial cardiac ventricle 8 is formed. Inside the casing 7 is formed a liquid flow passage 9 through which liquid 202 for cooling heat generated from the motor 3 circulates. In the casing 7 are formed a region 71, in which metal binding is dense, from an arrangement part of the motor 3 to part of the liquid flow passage 9 and a region 72, in which metal binding is sparse, provided between the region 71 in which metal binding is dense and the artificial cardiac ventricle 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
