To make a pestle itself for tableting have a function to remove excess powder.SOLUTION: A tableting pestle 1 in which a molding part 3 having a tableting surface 4 is integrally provided on a tip 2b side of a substantially columnar barrel part 2 and a head 5 having a hitting surface 6 is provided on a base end part 2c side of the barrel part 2. Spiral plural grooves 9 for excess powder removal which extend toward the base end part 2c side from the tip 2b are provided on an outer peripheral surface of the barrel part 2 in an outer peripheral direction of the barrel part 2 at constant intervals, excess powder which is generated during tableting is accommodated in the grooves 9 for excess powder removal, and excess powder in the grooves 9 is discharged during form removal of the tableting pestle 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
